“The ethical woes facing Democrats are piling up, with barely a day passing in recent weeks without headlines from Washington to New York and beyond filled with word of scandal or allegations of wrongdoing.

The troubles of Gov. David A. Patersonof New York, followed by those of two of the state’s congressmen, Charles B. Rangel and Eric J. Massa, have added to the ranks of episodes involving prominent Democrats like Eliot Spitzer, Rod R. Blagojevich and John Edwards.

Taken together, the cases have opened the party to the same lines of criticism that Democrats, led by Representatives Nancy Pelosi, now the House speaker, and Rahm Emanuel, now White House chief of staff, used effectively against Republicans in winning control of the House and Senate four years ago.” – NYTimes

Wait, I’m conjuring up my most impressive shocked face. Shocked! There’s nothing new here. These guys have been abusing voter trust for years. It’s only now, when the offenses have become so egregious and so numerous, that old media has to pay attention. The media’s hypocrisy is stunning. Pelosi has obviously paid only lip service to draining the “swamp.”

But the good news is the deficit continues to spiral out of control and no one in the Obama administration seems to care. Pelosi and Reid certainly don’t.

“A new congressional report released Friday says the United States’ long-term fiscal woes are even worse than predicted byPresident Barack Obama’s grim budget submission last month.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office predicts that Obama’s budget plans would generate deficits over the upcoming decade that would total $9.8 trillion. That’s $1.2 trillion more than predicted by the administration.” – AP

So those of us who still have jobs, enjoy them while you can. Take comfort in the knowledge that old media has you in its tender, warm embrace. It’s watching out for you and the country as it pushes us off the cliff.

Thanks for the cross post! If Pelosi thinks it will take courage to pass this version health care why do the Democrats have to hand out some many incentives?
